I work primarily with mixed-media collage because it mirrors the disjunctions that define my studio approach and lifestyle, and allows me to work through ideas (initially) very quickly. I gravitate to large-format painting when I’m needing a more immersive, process-intensive making/viewing experience. Both forms are similar in that they are built from, and rely heavily on line. Current subjects that inform my works include conflict and aggression, politics, and literature.
